TIKI is such a smart little girl. She is about three years old and part dachshund. Bursting with energy when out and about, she's also happy to just lap-crash and kick back. While she would prefer to snuggle and sleep with Her Person, she can be crated at night. She is very well housebroken. She is not a barker. Tiki loves everyone she meets. We have been told she is fine with kids, but haven't taken her around any yet. She is curious about cats and will take chase if they run from her, but once the turn around, she scoots the other direction in a jiffy! She gets along with other dogs unless she feels a need to guard something: Her Person, Her Toy, etc. I have found this getting much better in only 24 hours, she responds well to correction. She knows “sit” - although it comes faster if a treat is involved. Since she's so smart and treat motivated, training her should be fun and easy. Tiki does need to be leashed when outside a fenced area, as she can become overwhelmed with the exciting outdoors and may take some time to come back. I do think this will get better once she has been in her forever home a while and gets enough exercise. I think Tiki would love to take long walks – even runs if that's what you're into. She is small but full of life and fun. And so low maintenance, with her soft, sleek fur. To meet her is to love her!
